A belated Happy New Year!  It is hard to believe that we are already into the first year of this century’s second decade. 

In view of the recent tragedy in Haiti, Students for Change has decided that all their fundraising efforts will be to support the Haiti Relief Fund through the Red Cross.  Our student population has been very generous so far and we would like to thank everyone.

We have just completed our first term of teaching and learning at Londonderry this school year. 

Our teachers' professional development and instructional improvement work continues to move along in a focused manner.  All staff members have completed their annual growth plans.  These plans are a mechanism for developing professional goals which link to the school's overall objective of improving teaching practices and student learning.  If you would like more information about this work, I encourage you to attend our Parent and School Council meetings with the Principal.

We have just completed our first month of teaching and learning at Londonderry this school year.  It has been a smooth and very productive ‘start-up' for both staff and students. This October message is a brief update on school topics prior to the publication and distribution of our first newsletter near the end of the month. The newsletter will provide a more detailed report of the ‘comings and goings' of life at Londonderry.
