Communicating Student Growth
There are three informal (October, January and May) and three formal (December, March and June) reporting periods during the school year. All parents are requested and very strongly encouraged to attend parent-teacher conferences during which are held in late October and early February. Additional parent teacher conferences can be arranged whenever necessary at either parent or teacher request.
Assessment and Evaluation
Multiple sources of data are used to support judgments of student achievement and performance (formative, diagnostic and summative assessment, standardized tests, teacher-made evaluations, performance based assessment, and anecdotal notes based on daily performance). If you any questions or concerns regarding your child’s assessment or evaluation, please contact your child’s teacher for clarification.
Special Services
Our school has access to a team of specialists, which consists of a psychologist, social worker and a reading specialist. Students identified by their teachers and/or parents as requiring the services of these specialists are referred for assessment and follow-up.
